Chinese company UMi has released its latest smartphone called the UMi Fair and it is touted to be the world’s cheapest smartphone with a fingerprint sensor. It was announced earlier this week and has been released on September 25th at a press release. The company has officially announced the specifications of the Fair but has not revealed the price of the device. But according to earlier reports the UMi Fair is said to be priced at $99 approximately Rs. 6,500.
The UMi Fair comes with a fingerprint sensor which is said to run a self-learning algorithm and can store up to 5 fingerprints and is said to unlock the phone in just 0.32 seconds with over 99% accuracy. The UMi fair comes with a 5-inch HD display having a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels resolution. It is supported by 1GB of RAM and 8GB internal storage space with expandable memory up to 64GB with a microSD card.
The device sports a 13MP rear camera equipped with a Sony IMX 164 sensor having an aperture of f/2.2 and dual LED flash and a 2MP front-facing camera having an aperture of f/2.2 and 1.12um pixel size. The UMi Fair sports a Fingerprint sensor on the back of the device located below the camera module. This will be the cheapest smartphone sporting a fingerprint sensor. It comes with connectivity features like 4G LTE / 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS.
