Honor has launched their latest midrange smartphone, the Honor 8C, today, in China. The Honor 8C is the successor to the Honor 7C. The 8C comes with a dual camera setup on the back as well as a notched display on the front.
Honor 8C
The Honor 8C sports a 6.26-inch HD+ display with a resolution of 1520×720 pixels. The screen has a 19:9 aspect ratio. Powering the smartphone is the flashy new Snapdragon 632 SOC which comes with Adreno 506 GPU. It comes with either 32 GB or 64 GB of internal storage, while the 4 GB RAM on both the variants remains the same. There’s also room for storage expansion up to 256 GB via a microSD card. The phone runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with Huawei‘s EMUI 8.2 on top.
In the camera department, the Honor 8C uses a dual camera setup as mentioned above. The primary camera is a 13 MP shooter with a f/1.8 aperture, while the secondary camera is a 2 MP unit with f/2.4 aperture, which helps with depth mapping for portraits. The notch on the front houses an 8 MP selfie camera with a f/2.0 lens attached to it. An LED flash assists both the front-facing and the rear-facing cameras.
The Honor 8C comes with a massive 4000 mAh battery underneath the glass back. Talking about the back, the glass used on the back has a 3D nano-level texture design which uses both gradient and glare to produce a unique light effect.
For connectivity, the phone comes with 4G VoLTE, 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2 LE as well as GPS with GLONASS. The phone comes with a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner for securing your smartphone. The Honor 8C weighs 167 gms and is only 7.98 mm thick.
Pricing and Availability of Honor 8C
The Honor 8C comes in Aurora Blue, Midnight Black, Nebula Purple & Platinum Gold colors. The 32 GB storage variant is priced at CNY 1099 (USD 159/ INR 11,788 approx.), while the 64 GB storage variant will be available for CNY 1399 (USD 202/ INR 15,006 approx.). The phones are available for pre-order starting today, while the sale begins on October 16, 2018.
