OnePlus is set to introduce a USB Type C version of the Bullets V2, which are said to debut alongside the next OnePlus smartphone. This new move from OnePlus confirms that the company is set to ditch the 3.5 mm headphone, a feature that the OnePlus themselves mocked Apple about during the launch of the OnePlus 5.
The Chinese Smartphone Maker OnePlus’s CEO Carl Pei has also confirmed that the upcoming OnePlus device, will no longer feature the 3.5 mm headphone jack, which in 2018 has become a recurring trend, as more and more companies jump onto the portless phones bandwagon.
“Making a great phone doesn’t mean putting every component available into the device,”
said Carl Pei.
The new Type C Bullets from OnePlus are said to feature the same build and design as the Bullets V2, with metal ear shells and a stretch resistant aramid fiber reinforced wire for durability. However, the new earbuds from OnePlus are said to have a better sound profile, thanks to the built-in high-end DAC by Ciruss Logic. The new DAC is said to have a higher dynamic range, high signal-to-noise ratio, and low noise floor. The Type C connectivity also ensures minimal loss in quality than the analog 3.5 mm headphone jack.
OnePlus justified its decision to remove the headphone jack by stating that the company had earlier conducted a survey early in 2018, prior to the launch of the OnePlus 6 & Bullets Wireless, in which the company discovered that almost 59% OnePlus users have switched to wireless headsets. Earlier in 2017, when the company conducted a similar survey, the number of people who clung onto the beloved headphone jack, amidst Apple dropping the port, amounted to 80% of OnePlus users.
Availability of OnePlus USB Type C Bullets
As for the pricing and availability, the earphones will be launched alongside the upcoming OnePlus 6T, with a price tag of INR 1,490 (USD 20), similar to the standard Bullets V2 3.5 mm variant. The earphones will be available across both online and offline markets, in India and Globally.

I’m not a fan of this move
#GizmoArmy #MotoG6Plus
Personally feels it’s not an good move by OnePlus because still majority of users relay on 3.5 mm headset jack while on other hand also feels that as time passes we need to be updated with tech so 50-50 here.

Though it’s not the most favorable decision by OnePlus but hope that extra space will bring some improvements like extra battery and IP water resistance also
