Just like how things turned around for the consumers and the competitive network providers started offering better plans after the launch of Reliance Jio months ago, it is turning around the same way with broadband services too. After the announcement of JioGigaFiber fixed-line broadband service by Reliance Jio, one of the major players Bharti Airtel has just made it a rule that there is no FUP limit for any of their broadband plans.
With most of the broadband service providers excluding a few, there is a set FUP limit after the completion of which there is a lesser speed connectivity provided until the billing cycle or the month ends. For example, both of the major providers including Airtel Broadband and ACT Fibernet had this and the latter still the FUP limits.
At least for now, the plans have removed the FUP (Fair usage policy) limit in Hyderabad and it is said to be rolled out in every major city where the services are offered, and the users from Hyderabad have already confirmed that there is no limit to the amount of data used through Airtel Broadband.

We’ve reached out to Airtel’s team to understand if this is just a test or whether this is going to be a permanent step and to be made the same for every connection they have, and we will update with the answer here whenever we get one. For now, it is clear that the broadband service companies have started facing the heat even before JioGigaFiber’s plans are announced, which might again disrupt the market just like how the network provider’s mobile plans have been doing so.
It is not even confirmed if Jio will offer unlimited broadband plans when JioGigaFiber gets launched, but the competition is all prepared to face it and we might get more clarity after August 15th when the users can register their interest in getting a broadband connection on JioGigaFiber.
More such move form other companies will come up after jiogigafiber launch but I have a feeling this might not provide a sustainable business model for companies, thanks
That’s the interesting JioGigaFiber came to India Now all will think to reduce their plans amazing Jio #GizmoArmy
