Lenovo has announced the launch of their latest smartphone, the Lenovo S5, a mid-range smartphone in their “S series”, after teasing the public with an invitation promo. The S5 is said to competing with the likes of Redmi 5 Plus. The phone bears a striking resemblance to the OnePlus 5T or the Oppo R11s.
A 5.7 inch FullHD+ 18:9 display with a resolution of 2160x 1080 pixels greets you on the front. Powering the phone is the Snapdragon 625 SOC with 3 GB/ 4 GB of RAM. The S5 comes in 32 GB/ 64 GB/128 GB storage options with an option to expand the storage upto 128 GB via a MicroSD card. The phone runs on Android 8.0 Oreo with Lenovo’s ZUI 3.7 on top along with U-Touch 4.0 for gesture interaction.
For the cameras, the S5 has dual 13 MP rear cameras of which, one is Monochrome sensor, while the other is an RGB sensor. Both cameras come with an F/2.0 lens with dual-tone LED flash. On the front we have 16 MP 80.2° wide angle lens with a F/2.0 aperture. The selfie camera comes with real-time AI-powered face beautify features.
The phone comes with a 6000 series aluminium unibody design and houses a 3000 mAh battery underneath. The fingerprint sensor is present on the back, and the phone also has Face Unlock support. The phone has dual sim support with USB Type-C for charging. The Lenovo S5 comes in only two colour options; Midnight Black and Flame Red. The prices start from 999 yuan (USD 157/ INR 10,289) for the 3 GB RAM with 32 GB storage model, 1199 yuan (USD 189/ INR 12,349) for the 4 GB RAM with 64 GB storage variant and the 4 GB RAM with 128 GB of storage variant costs you 1499 yuan (USD 236/ INR 15,440).
