A few weeks ago we’ve seen the leaked details on the Zenfone 5 Lite and the Zenfone 5 Max, the presence of the device at MWC 2018 was also confirmed by the company themselves. The two devices are expected to be launched on February 27th ahead of MWC 2018. While we are yet to receive any other details about the smartphones to be launched, the hashtag #backto5 lets us speculate that they might be launching their Zendone 5 series on the launch date.
The details that were recently leaked hint towards the presence of an 18:9 ratio display on the Zenfone 5 Lite and the Zenfone 5 Max. Despite the modern aspect ration, the thick bezels on the sides are pretty significant and the device is expected to come with a metal unibody design. We leaked images also hint towards a dual camera setup similar to the iPhone X and also the antenna bands on the device follow the iPhone design language.
The Zenfone 5 was earlier spotted on the Geekbench and comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 octa-core processor with 3GB RAM according to the listing. The device will be running on the latest Android Oreo out of the box and the other details will only come with the eventual launch of the device.
The rear of the device houses the Asus branding and also comes with a circular fingerprint sensor while the power and volume buttons are conveniently placed on the right side of the device. The SIM and the microSD card slot can be spotted on the left of the device. A few years ago we saw the Type C port on the OnePlus 2 and it has become a trend since then, surprisingly, the Zenfone 5 tends to retain the MicroUSB 2.0 port for the series. The Zenfone 5 series chose not to go by the trend yet again by retaining the 3.5mm headphone jack.
