United Motorcycles is a rather new brand in the two-wheeler segment in India and is mainly known for their Renegade series of cruiser bikes and the brand is launching their all-new Renegade Thor at the Auto Expo 2018. This Renegade THor from UM will be an electric cruiser and the company just revealed a teaser ahead of the official announcement.
The Renegade Thor will be the first of its class as an electric cruiser and there’s no perceivable competition for it right now. Not many details have been revealed about it, everything including the price and battery range has been left to speculation.
Rajeev Mishra, the CEO of UM commented that he is very excited to be a part of the Auto Expo 2018 and that he is very confident about the visitors being thrilled by the UM range of Motorcycles being showcased at their stand. He also took the liberty to talk a few words about their first electric high-speed cruiser and its presence in the Auto Expo.
As days pass, it is becoming more evident how manufacturers are trying to bring in their EV’s into the India market, we’ve already heard of Maruti Suzuki and Kia showcasing their electric cars in the Auto Expo 2018 and we now have UM announcing their Electric Cruiser which is going to start its own segment in the India market.
The Tag Line used by the company reads “it’s time to move past cc” which clearly indicates the company slowly going electric and ditching the high capacity petrol engines. The new Renegade Thor will be powered by Batteries that would power the electric motor which would replace the internal combustion engine.
Unfortunately, there’s no detail available about the technical specifications nor about the price and we can only speculate. From the teaser that we saw, the Renegade Thor is expected to come with wide handlebars, pseudo fuel tank which might house the batteries and possibility of LED displays for the battery level and other functions of a dashboard.
Other details on the UM Renegade Thor will be officially announced at the Auto Expo 2018 and will officially go on sale only after the reveal. The current line up of UM includes 4 cruiser bikes for the Indian Market, the Renegade Commando Classic, Renegade Commando, Renegade Sport S and the Renegade Commando Mojave which are all going to be put on display at the Auto Expo 2018.
