OPPO India is going to officially launch the F5 smartphone in India but before that, we know all the details thanks to the launch happened already in Philippines. The OPPO F5 smartphone, as teased by the company, comes with the 6-inch Full HD+ display with the 2160 x 1080 pixels. This is the company’s first phone to have the 18:9 aspect ratio.
Just like how the Vivo counterpart (Vivo V7+) ditched the dual-lens front camera setup, the OPPO F5 has a single front camera on the front with a 20-megapixel camera for selfies with the F/2.0 aperture. The company has included artificial intelligence to bring out better selfies. On the rear, the phone has a 16-megapixel camera with the F/2.0 aperture.
For the power, the OPPO F5 has the MediaTek MT6763T octa-core processor coupled with 4GB/6GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB of internal storage respectively. The phone runs Android 7.1 Nougat based ColorOS 3.2 and it should soon get the Android Oreo update. There’s a MicroSD card slot as well for the storage expansion.
There has been a considerable change in the design because of the wider and bigger display, as OPPO moves the fingerprint sensor from the front to the back of the phone and there are no physical navigation buttons as the display will now house the navigation buttons. Also, for people to adjust to the new security placement, the company has also included face unlocking as a feature.
To add to it, the battery that powers the device has a 3200 mAh capacity and it is not confirmed if there is fast charging support given. There are three color options of the OPPO F5, in which only the 4GB RAM variant comes in Gold and Black options while the 6GB RAM variant comes in Red.
In Philippines where the phone is launched, it is priced at 15,990 PHP that converts to about Rs. 20000 but we are not aware of the price at which it would get launched in India on November 2nd.
