ZOOOK is a French brand that is famous for electronic accessories, especially in the audio segment. There are several speakers, some basic ones and some heavy on sound ones from the company. I chose the Mean Machine M Square for reviewing and bought it for a good deal on Amazon. To be fair, there is not a lot to be expected for that price because if you are someone too much into the bass and heavy metal kind of stuff, then it is better to take a look at the offers from JBL, Harman Kardon or Bose for the requirement. What the Mean Machine M2 from ZOOOK offers is an all-in-one solution for people who like enjoying music during some camping or travel.
I got these for Rs. 1700 which is a good deal already because the ZOOOK Mean Machine M2 has quite a lot when it comes to the connectivity options. Bluetooth, AUX, USB, TF card, and FM are the different options to get the music playing on the speaker.
To start with the design, it is a sturdy and big unit. Those rubbery ends make it resistant to bad impact during any fall and even with that size, the Mean Machine is not so heavy and thus, it is easy to carry. Still, the same size makes it hard to carry it without the strap on because it isn’t easy to have it anywhere inside your bag. There’s projections on the side that make it look like a stand so that you can have the speaker seated at a place.
The company has provided a strap to carry the speaker hung to your shoulder, and there is also an AUX cable to connect your phone with the speaker in case you don’t want it connected through Bluetooth. Apart from that, there is a warranty booklet and a cable for charging.
On the specs side, the ZOOOK Mean Machine M2 has a 10W output, it connects through Bluetooth 2.1, and it is said to offer about 6 hours of battery life. It has a 3-inch subwoofer and the frequency response is said to be from 20 Hz to 20 KHz.
Next, the sound output and quality. Although this might seem like a two-way speaker, it isn’t. Only the side that houses the controls and ports has the speaker for the sound output while the other side has only the beats, which you would call as the bass. Although on full volume you get some real power on the sound, it isn’t so great with the bass as it just seems like one that offers high audio output and not much for the rock metal music listeners.
Now, getting to the point about the battery life. The speaker did give a continuous output of over 5 hours on Bluetooth, thanks to the 3000 mAh battery, but the good thing is that you can charge this big boy with a power bank as well. On the other side, charging the speaker also takes over 2 and half hours.
Most of the high-end or even the medium-range speakers don’t offer so much when it comes to connectivity and FM is an added advantage here on the ZOOOK one.
Is it really worth the price? The ZOOOK Mean Machine M2 has a lot to offer when it comes to the features, a design that not makes it look good but also does well with the ruggedness. But then, it isn’t the best when it comes to offering a good sound quality, even if there is so much on the output levels. But in the end, the price of Rs. 1700 is a great one for what you are getting. There are some competitive speakers in this price range but if you just want an entertainment unit and don’t really care how good the audio quality is, this is a speaker you need to get.
You totally zoooked it ✌️
