How much ever smart a smartphone is, you at some point would want to take it easy and have a rather simpler interface when either you are using the smartphone during meetings or while traveling when you want to see a lesser battery drain on the phone. The Samsung Galaxy S8 is an amazingly great phone with so much power that it could be the best phone in the market currently with its Exynos 9 processor and a 2K display, along with 4GB of RAM.
But when you don’t want to use the phone to the fullest and just want the simpler interface, the Galaxy S8 has an option for the same. There’s an Easy Mode available in the Samsung Galaxy S8 and it does what is expected from the mode – to be easier to use, to be lighter on the processor, and to not use a lot of battery. Here’s how to set it up.
As the phone settings explain,
Use a simpler Home screen layout and bigger on-screen items. Any customizations you’ve made to the Home screen will be discarded and the zoom will be set to the maximum setting.
Now, to enable the Easy Mode, you need to go to the Settings > Display and here, you will find the Easy Mode section.
Enter that and toggle from Standard to Easy and you are done. There is not much that you can do to change the look or customize it. Once you change it to Easy mode, the phone wouldn’t restart but will take a pause for a couple of seconds before all the text becomes larger and upon reaching the home screen, you would notice larger icons and whatever customized home screens you had, would be gone.
Since it isn’t the Lite mode that you see on some other phones, not everything is changed but only the viewing becomes easier and animations are gone. If you shift back to the Standard mode, whatever you had on the home screens will return as it is.
If you want to save the battery on the device, there are a lot of other things that you have to do too, because a powerful phone as the Galaxy S8 will have several functions running in the background for the phone to be smoothly running.
