How to setup Fingerprint sensor security on the Moto G5 Plus

For all the good reasons, Moto G5 plus is finally here powerfully packed. The new Moto G5 Plus does justice for the price you’re paying with no compromises. It comes with a 5.2-inch full HD IPS display with Gorilla Glass 3 protection, Snapdragon 625 bundled with the Adreno 506 GPU and you have various storage options with different variants. The camera is the big deal here. It is equipped with a 12MP f/1.7, the same as that of the Samsung Galaxy S7 and also supports 4K video recording at 30 fps. Here, we’ll discuss setting up of the Fingerprint and its abilities.

For the beginners and those of you who don’t know how to setup the fingerprint ID, here’s the guide which guides you through the process of enrolling a fingerprint.

Firstly, Go to Settings, scroll down to Security and tap the Fingerprint in the Security. Here, you’ll find the basic information about your fingerprint IDs and where they can be used. After clicking Continue there, You’ll be asked to first setup a primary lock which can be a Pattern or a PIN or a Password.

When you proceed with any of them, you’ll be asked if the device needs the primary lock which you’ve chosen during every boot (This means, fingerprint ID can’t be used after a fresh boot up of the device). After that, you’ll be asked how the notifications are to be shown on the lock screen.

Proceed however you want and then locate the fingerprint sensor at the bottom of the device which is right in the middle. Clicking Next, you’ll need to tap your finger on the fingerprint sensor various times varying with the position of your finger on the sensor so as to capture your fingerprint pattern perfectly.

Now, you are all set and good to go. If you want to enroll more fingerprints, you can again go into the fingerprint section and enroll other fingerprints.

The maximum number of fingerprints that can be enrolled are limited to five to prevent any misconceptions caused to the ID detector while unlocking the device.

The fingerprint sensor on the Moto G5 Plus is pretty quick unlocking the device. And there’s much more to it. You can also use the Fingerprint sensor as the home button, swipe to the right to bring out the recent apps and swipe to the left to go back.
