Acer has announced their latest Chromebook, the Chromebook 14 which comes with Google chrome for Work. The Chromebook comes with a 14-inch display with two variants based on resolution – HD (1366 x 768) or Full HD (1920 x 1080). The device is powered by a 6th-Generation Celeron and Core processors which comes with 2GB or, 4GB or 8GB dual channel LPDDR3 SDRAM options and storage options of 16GB or 32GB eMMC storage options.
The Chromebook is made durable as it comes with MIL-STD 810G Military standard which protects against drops, temperature, dust and humidity. The keyboard is also spill-resistant providing protection against spills of up to 11 fluid ounces or 330ml. This is made possible thanks to the two drain holes which prevent the water from going towards the internal components and out through the bottom. The body of the Chromebook 14 can withstand up to 60kgs of downward force and drops from up to 48 inches.
The Chromebook 14 is the first laptop to come with Vibrant Corning Gorilla Glass giving it a durable glass finish which can be customized by the user. The Chromebook measures 330 x 227 x 22.4mm in dimensions and weighs 1.45Kg in weight. The Acer Chromebook 14 for Work comes with Chrome OS and has a Trusted Platform Module solution having 100GB of free cloud storage integrated to protect files, documents and photos securely on Google Drive. It allows users to access the files Offline and even open and edit Microsoft Office documents as well as Google Documents.
The Chromebook 14 for Work comes with USB 3.0 Type-C connection along with USB 3.0 ports, SD card slot and HDMI output, the Chromebook 14 for Work comes with full desktop solution with the optional docking port with a single cable for additional displays, speakers and up to five more USB devices which is quite impressive for a Laptop.
The Acer Chrome 14 for Work comes with various variants based on different options available and the pricing starts from $349 and will be available starting May.
