With Ringing bells Pvt. Ltd, a Noida-based firm facing many charges of fraud and cheating against the company regarding the Freedom 251 smartphone, Ringing bells seem to be determined to fulfill their promise of selling the world’s cheapest smartphone “Freedom 251” soon. According to Zeenews, the company might be facing some relief against the case of cheating filed against Ringing bells under section 420 at the Allahabad High Court.
According to the news, the offense of section 420 of IPC may not be valid for the charges against the company. as said by the division bench, comprising of Justice B. K. Narayan and Justice R. N. Mishra. The bench also ruled that no coercive steps should be taken against Ringing Bells Pvt. Ltd until the next hearing. The bench has said that Ringing bells should be given a chance to fulfill their commitment before taking any action.
Ringing Bells has got into news worldwide with the launch of the world’s most affordable 3G smartphone, the Freedom 251 in February and with right from the sales say has been in controversies about how genuine the company is and its promises with cases being filed against it in Allahabad Court.
With this ruling favoring the company about giving them a chance to fulfill their promises Abhishek Vikram, counsel for Ringing Bells said, the company has already developed an innovative strategy to meet the promised cost of the handset and for delivering the smartphone at just Rs. 251 to its customers. he added “We are very happy with today’s (Friday’s) order. We shall now press for the quashing of the FIR as there is no merit in it and extraneous factors have gone into its lodging. This FIR is a strategy to derail the timely launch of the flagship product of the company.”
The Freedom 251 which comes with a 4-inch display along with a quad-core 1.3GHz processor coupled with 1GB of RAM and 8GB internal storage expandable up to 32GB using microSD card. The price of the phone was promised at Rs. 251 with the delivery date being set as until June30. We have to wait and see what will be the next move by the company.
